You sort of have to have a scooby. You think iconic 90's rallying and only 2 cars come to mind; Scooby and Evo

what about the good old escort cosworth, that some hold in such high regard ? oh never noticed you said rally cars lol

i still cant believe that anyone in their right mind would pay 15k for a 20 year old ford rotbox that got slated in every road test that it did with its far superior japanese cousins,i just dont know what the appeal is,its just a sierra with a bodykit really, have had pleasure of driving them all and i would rank them evo, scooby,,,,,,,,,,,rs

Wouldn't call them crap tbh,I presume your comparing them when they were first released with say a Evo 3 and the very first Impreza.

Escort cossie £15-20k,these cars arnt rusty beleive me,know quite a few people in RSOC and they are immaculate!

if they were used as normal cars believe me they would be rusty,or broken down, most spend their lifes in a bubble in rsoc members garages, they do look slightly better than evo's scoobs imo,but its just the fact that ford did a half arsed job by slapping an escort bodyshell onto a sierra floorpan, running gear, and expected it to compete with purpose built technically superior jap machines, truth is the escort cossie was dated when it was released and was and never will be a great car as its price tag implies, zero rally pedigree says it all really, and i'll bet theres a few on here own them and have a 205 so they can have a drivers car, most rs's are just garage ornaments nowadays

Escort cosworth no rally pedigree, that's best statement I've heard ever I think.

Hundreds of clubmen rallying them in GP-N in the first few years like Mitsi evo's now.

Not to mention the first large Turbo road models with water injection disconnected in the boot for homologation

works spec Gp-A cars in just about in every country run by semi works teams

Then there's the proper Ford works cars and Malcolm Wilson motorsport cars lol

and won how many wrc events ? just because people use them doesn't give them pedigree, ford couldnt win a wrc event in it no matter how much money it threw at it,fords rallying after the mk2 escort is a joke, build a front drive escort and convert it to rwd for rallying, spend a fortune doing so then bin it,spend a fortune developing a group b car and finish it just in time to see it banned, build a rwd car when everyone is using 4wd useless, realise they need 4wd so get a taxi and put a poor 4wd system on it,plenty of room in the boot though lol, real pedigree mate,is that the large turbo road model that everyone said was very laggy ? way to go on customer care to.here buy this car from us,it dont drive too sharp but we need the big turbo for rallying, theres free water injection in the boot to make up for it,dont work though,oh and by the way if you ever do find yourself having enough power to use the water injection or get the most out of your big turbo, you had better budget for a new gearbox cos this ones out of a sierra and made of chocolate, the rs badge is still strong from the 70's 80's but they have not built a decent rally car since

|Being massively pedantic maybe, but it's not true, it was a massively sweeping statement. There's LOADS of cars that come to mind when '90's rallying' is mentioned, Impreza's and Evo's were only around for the latter half, i guess we were talking World Rally.

90's rallying conjures up images of allsorts of cars to me rather than Impreza's and Evo's,; 306/Clio/Megane/Seat/Escort wide arched F2 affairs, the early 90's GpA stuff, Sapphire Cos, Delta, Legacy, Celica, etc etc, then moving on to WRC's aside from the Impreza/Evo's; Skoda, Celica/Corolla, Hyundai, Focus, as said the Escorts... etc etc!

Even if it were fitting, which IMO it's not because all the others pictured above are from the 70's/80's!
