[Car_Overhaul] 1993 Barn Find White 205 Gti Restoration

Made a school boy error when spraying the inner boot!! I decided to use up the grey primer I have so off I went with a few coats :)

So when it came to the final paint in white it swallowed 3 cans for Alpine white!! So next time I must remember to use the white primer so save putting 4 coats of paint on!!

So here is the boot floor finally sprayed up.

Nice to see it done considering the mess it was in when welded!

post-10898-0-27126400-1371925369_thumb.jpg

Maybe I should have sanded the welds out a little but I figure is a repair so I don't want to hide it, its proof all the rust got cut out and its been done properly :)

Plus its under some underlay and the boot mat.

Better to leave the weld as it is .. by grinding them off you'll be loosening the strength of the welded joint .

As it's a part of the interior bodywork , floor - by adding sound deadening material and OE boot mat , no one will see it being welded/repaired .

Quick update as its been a while! The next project now the weathers better and I have some time is the rear beam :) Once he's sorted and painted its time to put things back together on the rear end and finally move to the front !

Brake lines and fuel lines will be replaced as part of the bits being put back together also :)

Ill take some pic's as got more to paint and some things to tidy up .

Fingers crossed the front end is simpler :)

A bit thanks to Stefan also for the hand as its turned into a big job and hes given up a couple of Sundays up for me already.

Coming along nicely.

Central Panels lists 2 prices for bumpers (£25 and below £20 each), which did you get? Driving past them tomorrow so it'd be rude not to grab a pair if they're that good.
