205 Xs Air Filter

Recommended Posts

magicmopman

Hi guys,

I've sorted the running issues with my 205, turned out the float height was quite far out on my carb.

Considering getting a performance filter on the car as I just love the noise.

If I bought a pipercross kit would it include jets and would it be necessary to re-jet the carb?

I know that the K&N's came with jets but I'd rather not split my carb apart again and have to dig out those fiddly buggers!

Cheers

dont think pipercross ones come with the jet.

you dont have to split the carb to change the jet, just a thin flathead screwdriver, a wooden kebab skewer and maybe a torch. just take the old filter off to expose the top of the carb, unscrew the main emilsion tube, poke the kebab skewer in the hole and pull it out, then unscrew the jet beneath it and do the same, do the old switcheroo and away you go.

Oh yeah! I forgot it's all accesible without splitting the carb! It's probably worth going for a K&N then! cheers John
