Could Be The Problem

Hi, still trying to find out what the problem is with the car jumping out of gear.

I some times happens when I am pulling away on a hill and I was wondering if it could be the round gearbox mounting. May be it has pressure put onto it.

Has any mebers ever renewed one of these mountings and any tips or things to look out for?

Check the gearbox mount and lower engine mount for wear and replace them if needs be.

 

The gearbox one is the easiest to replace, just remove the battery and you will see it inside the battery tray, support the gearbox with a jack, remove the large centre nut, the two 13mm nuts either side and lower the gearbox slightly until you can remove the mount then replace it.

 

Also worth checking the condition of your gear rods and that the pivot ball bolted onto the subframe is tight!
