Anybody Know Much About 206S (Apart From The Fact They Are Poo)

Recommended Posts

Peetypug

My cousin has come round with an issue with his 1.4 hdi 206

Had a very loud rattle/tap from the engine bay

My first thoughts were shagged engine, but just to be on the safe side I took the aux belt off and the rattle has gone

What's the best way of diagnosing which aux part it could be? Is it just a case of spinning the pullies etc or giving them a waggle?

Is there a common one that fails?

Cheers in advance :)

yup, about half the price of a pug one, seems to only be the early type listed, though at £75 so £20 cheaper than a solid one.

look for any 1.4 or 1.6 hdi post September 4, 2005 which is RP 10527 if you want a failsafe solid pulley :)

Right, been out today and got a used earlier one, doesn't fit :( only cost £5 so not that dramatic

I've had a look at the one that's on and was wondering if it's possible to weld this one to make it solid?

if its from an x plate pete i doubt its off the 1.4 derv as they didnt do them till later on in about 2002 so you either got a petrol one or a 1.9 version.

which is probably why it doesnt fit!
