My Dads Car After An Unfortunate Meeting With A Deer

Recommended Posts

scott-205gti

Hi just thought i would show some photos of my dads sorrento green peugeot 205 after its meeting with a deer at 40mph, needless to say a fair bit of damage was caused. I must say a big thanks to anthony and baz for supplying some much needed parts, So far parts needed have been

New radiator

New bumper

Second hand valance off ( Anthony) in correct colour

Radiator housing and fan bought off (Baz) along with a sorrento green grill

New water pipe

A big hammer and alot of pulling and knocking the front end out again.

I will update with more photos tomorrow.IMG_0521.jpgIMG_0520.jpgIMG_0519.jpgIMG_0518.jpgIMG_0517.jpgIMG_0516.jpgIMG_0509.jpgIMG_0508.jpg

How on earth did you do so little damage hitting fully grown deer at that speed? :o

My old Passat (when a friend had it) was rendered the best part of a foot shorter after hitting a Stag at around 60mph to the point that the battery had a dent in the side from the Stag's head hitting it - and that was the early 90's generation of Passat that was built of far sterner stuff than a typical 205!

Glad that the parts are helping keep another one on the road anyway :)

incredible luck i think :D so far the damage has total upto £220 , took the opertunity to give the old girl a de rust treatment on the front panel, its in remarkably good condition compared to my red gti which is currently resting in a shed for me to get sufficent funds to bring her back to life and find someone local hopefully a 205 enthuiast who will weld her up for a good price so she can join my clio cup and my dads gti :) . The valance is brilliant and will live a long life on my dads gti as long as he doesnt hit any more deers  ,and will be fitted as soon as the radiator cowl arrives :) .Cheers

The old badgers can do a lot of damage too. I hit one once and he had pushed the valance of the cortina i had right in. I got out of the car to have a look and he was running off down the road, though old things! :)

Someone I knew back in school wrote his 206 off after hitting a badger at 90mph! He then borrowed his parents volvo to run around in and two days later hit a pheasant, went straight into the radiator, smashed grille etc.

Could of been worse, he could have got a snake in the engine!
