Rear Window Demister

i have an 88 205 xs and the on the rear window only 3 of the heater wires work can you buy new and replace the full heater?.

i would presume they just self stick on its just getting them on right in the first place.

 

not sure if you can buy a new heater element or have to buy a new window?

 

any help please.

It will be a complete screen, At least i've never seen an element available seperately. Also, check that the contacts that connect to the rear screen haven't come off - seems to be very common on 205s. I have bought some electrically conductive glue to try and sort mine but i haven't got around to trying it yet.

I fixed four non working lines recently using the Permatex Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit. Worked perfect and it's really simple.

 

When looking very closely along each broken wire you should be able to see a small damaged spot where it's probably blistered or worn.
