205 Open

Hi guys. We have bought a 1988 205 Open as a little fun car to do Autotests and road / scatter rallies in. Could someone just fill me in, for reference, exactly what the engine designation is? I know its 1360cc but what designation? This may help me in future when it breaks...

 

Also what is the best way to improve the suspension and handling using off the shelf components?

The engine if I remember right was the single choke carb one so should be the XY7 engine, the suspension was the same set up as the 205 XS so any upgrade listed for the XS or change the front subframe so you can use GTI arms etc.

Is it possible to fit a thicker front ARB?
