Can't Fit The Steering Bulkhead Grommet!

Hi ,

it seems i can't fit the grommet in the hole down the steering coloumn . it seems to big for the hole!

am i missing something?

Nope - I wish I put mine back in with the engine out, I was kicking myself.

 

Took me a while but it does go in......use Silicone lubricant to assist it.

If you dont have any silicone grease to hand, try a little washing up liquid round the lips.

I had the same problem, a right bast*rd to fit i put silicone grease on mine. I'am not sure about the washing up liquid around the lips George it tastes horrible :lol:

WD40 works too, ease it in bit by bit with a small screwdriver, helps having an assistant put pressure on the rear as you work it in.

 

 

Could try chucking it in a bowl of hot water to soften it up.
