m_attt 31 1 Cars Posted July 2, 2012 firstly i have searched, I have a gti im breaking with electric windows and wondered whats involved to fit them to my other gti. Do all cars come with the wiring harness pre installed or will i need to take it out of the breaker. if so where does it go too and is it a hard job. regards
Baz 421 Posted July 2, 2012 Some have the wiring but most of the time not completely - oddly sometimes only on one side! Its not too difficult a job, worth noting the wiring changed at Ph2 too, to a round multiplug on the a-pillar.
m_attt 31 1 Cars Posted July 2, 2012 ok thanks for that, think they are both phase 2's, if it ever stops raining I will try.
Ryan 99 Posted July 2, 2012 The mechanisms are a straight swap for the manual ones, and all the holes are already in the doors + door cards for the switch widing to pass through. Wiring depends on the age of the car, but if not fitted it's also a straight swap. At the worst you'd just need to plug in the looms under the dash.
j_turnell 134 3 Cars Posted July 4, 2012 If they are both phase2 with the round connectors it's a case of plug and play. You may need to put the relay in the fuse box though.
