New Rear Beam Time, Opinions Needed!

Recommended Posts

starky5

Well today my 205 failed its MOT on the rear beam and a couple other bits!

Just after some opinions, i have the choice of either a standard 205 1.9 beam or a 309 tube with 306 gti6 arms and i think berlingo torsion bars. The car is only a road car at the end of the day so i dont want to stiff a ride but i do like it to handle as well as it can so i can still have some fun!

Any info/views welcome

Thanks

Andrew

standard 205 beam with a larger ARB, or 205 beam with 21mm bars works nicely on the road :)

decent dampers make a massive different regardless of spec though.

Ok so ive ended up with a 309 beam as its already built and i can pick it up this evening! Probably not what i should base my decisions on but i want the car back on the road!

Now all i need to do is order some shocks as i dont fancy swapping mine or using the second hand ones that are being thrown in with the beam. Any suggestions on a good quality shock without spending a fortune?

Thanks

Scrap that i just found a very useful thread on shocks through the search!
