Non Starter

Hi over the past few weeks in the evenings i have changed the cylinder head gasket on my k plate 1.9 GTI.

Put everything back in place including a new starter as the old one was clicling on the solenoid but not turning the engine 8x out of 10.

The spasmodic starting/turning of the engine is still there even when i have put the new motor in,run in a new direct earth and when it does turn it still will not fire!.

Fuel in rail at pressure,12 volts on to one side of the injectors, dry plugs!

Any ideas.

Do all models have the tachometric relay thing or is all that done in the Metronic ECU?

Do you have a spark? If you have no fuel being injected and no spark I'd check the crank sensor first.

 

AFAIK Motronic 205s are similar to Mi16s, they don't have a tachymetric relay, instead they have a fuel pump relay and an injector relay.
