Tow Bar Help Please

Yes, I know I'm stupid and I ought to know the answer, but hey, I don't.

 

My wife's Passat has a detachable tow bar, I have never used it in anger before, until I fitted it, now I can't remove it. I don't want to make it worse by hitting it in the wrong direct.

 

 

Any ideas chaps?

think you just insert the key then twist

It's unlocked and in the green position, I'm not sure where the keys are either.
