Little Rubber Splitters

Recommended Posts

BlueBolt

Well, not even fussed about how little they are to be honest!!

I've been looking through the threads I've found thru search on adding splitters from anything from E30's to laguna's and other renaults...

I was wondering which of them have cut-outs, and which are the correct width for the 205...

As we're a few years on from some of the threads I found, we are a number of marks on from the laguna's megan's and other renaults mentioned...

I'm preferring the idea of one with cut-outs for brake ducting, which I'm planning on fitting this week to another place temporarily...

I've read through most of the thread about them, and I know they're not to many peoples taste, but I like em...

Especially the E30 job done a short while ago!!!

If you read through this thread this guy ( who is also on here and may post up ) has put the E30 splitter on his 206. Looks pretty good. Im thinking about the Laguna splitter and will hopefully fit ducts to the cut outs. How you planning on routing them

?

At the moment I'm planing on a few smaller pipes all together rather than 1 single 50mm pipe. Not worked out the exact route for them get tho...

However, I should be playing with it Thursday or Friday to work it out

Best bet is to probably wander around a couple of local scrapyards armed with a tape measure and see what random ones you come across. You may find soemthing different from a wacky old vehicle.

If you are neat you could cut a section out of the middle of a larger one and join it back together.

Neat I can do, patient enough to do it I'll struggle with though lol

Just put a bid on an "old school" laguna splitter on the bay, but not fussed if I win it... Will do exactly that with the teasure mape tho!! See what catches my eye...

I have a Laguna one on my 205 could possibly find a pic. Looks smart, well I like it. I have to trim the ends down and cut triangles into the corners so they bent tighter to fit the bumper.

Edit:

Espace splitters on the bay are a silly price!!

£40 for a splitter on its own...

£35 for the bumper and splitter!!

Work that one out lol

seems silly to go and buy a new one to cut it up... I'll have a look about a few scrap yards in the morning if the rain holds off tomorrow, gotta go and see a few companies about blasting and welding which are all around the same area...

I had a splitter on my fiesta years back, it was from a Seat Cordoba and that looked pretty good.

I'm going to rivet some thickish rubber stripping to the bottom of my 309 bumper. I've seen it done to a 205 and it looked ok

I quite like DRTDVL's BMW E24(?) one though. I currently have this;

No idea what it is.

Seat Ibiza one's were quite popular back in the day too and cheap iirc.

I too like the BMW one, I'll see what I can find in the yards tomorrow, must have misread it if it's an E24?? Lol

Shame you don't know what yours is too, liking that...!!

I'll have a look around a couple of scrap yards in the morning and see what I can find...

Us Vaux boys have been using the laguna ones for years (on cavs etc).

What I woudl say is that visually (to me) they are pretty one dimensional - ie look great from front on, but from the side it looks worse as the bumper then does not line through on the sills.

Might be different on the 205, but on the cavs that was always a let down.

Have to say its the same on 205's tbh, probably not so bad though as the sills are already a tad lower than the valance.

mk1 mondeo rear bumper lower trim, turned upside down. had one fitted to my nova back in the day and thought it looked great. not so sure now though but it might float your boat.

some other rear bumper trims can be made to fit when turned upside down too. we learned this quick after everyone robbed all the lagunas in the scrappies years ago.
