Polishing Out Scratches In Windscreen

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

i have some annoying marks on my windscreen from i guess some grit or something on the windscreen of the 306.

its not scratched just scuffed in an arc in a few places. looks like it happened over time and has new wipers fitted so is not getting any worse.

has anyone heard of a good product or method of removing these? save me getting a new screen fitted.

I have some scratches on my pickup screen, but I think they maybe worse than what you say yours are.

I have looked for info on this but not found anything.

I have not yet but was thinking about "it getting cracked" and then just paying the excess for a new screen.

Sorry not much help with fixing the screen you have, hope someone will come along with real fix.

I have read people machine polishing a windscreen successfully.

Also check this: http://www.detailing...ad.php?t=153788

I need to try it on both my cars as the windscreens are scratched.

Cerium oxide is also known as rouge powder: http://www.priorypolishes.co.uk/shop/front/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=15

You can machine polish glass the same way as paint, but it won't get proper scratches out, depends how deep they are i guess!

It literally just looks like frosted streaks.

No real scratches, it has a couple of chips to so may just have it replaced on the insurance.

Does that go down as a claim ?
