Back Number Plate Lights Filled With Water

Afrer rain or wash I notice that both lamps on top

Of the back registration plate get filled with water, what could be the solution ?

replace them, or take them off and open them up and run some silicon sealant around any gaps that water could get in?

Have a look at the holds itself. One of mine was worn and wouldn't hold the cover properly.
