ozy 0 Posted June 9, 2012 Hi, I am renewing the wheel bearing drivers side, and I can not loosen the hub nut. I am a fairly strong guy (plumber to trade) is this a normal thread? I have snapped one extension piece already, and do not want to do any damage to anything. Any help would really be appreciated. Thank you. ozy. 1994 sceptre 1.
Simes 248 2 Cars Posted June 9, 2012 Decent half inch drive breaker bar plus a length of scaffold pole for leverage works for me.
welshpug 1,646 Posted June 9, 2012 yes it is a standard right hand thread, get a decent 1/2 inch breaker bar and stand on it, if that fails take the car to a garage and ask them to buzz it off with an impact gun.

Smokeymi16 0 1 Cars Posted June 10, 2012 U are going to need a press to get the old bearing out and the new one in don't do it with a hammer u will shatter the bearing.
Normski 1 Posted June 11, 2012 When I did mine the 1/2" was just too flexy, I had to get a 3/4" bar + scaffold pole. Makes a big difference.
