Running Live To Fuel Pump

Recommended Posts

I'm still having trouble starting this 205 on DTA management. I have bypassed the immobiliser on the ignition loom by using my ignition loom directly into the fuse box. I can make it turn over, but I can't get the fuel pump to prime.

I've removed the fuel line and there is definitely no fuel being fed.

I can only assume the immobiliser goes deeper than it looks. I've got the dash out. There is no visible sign of anything being tapped in to.

I'm at a dead end. I only need to be able to get fuel to the engine to make sure it runs ok. I don't need a permanent fix. Something to get the pump to provide fuel temporarily will suffice as when I'm satisfied it starts it will be coming out.

:)

have you got power to the fuel pump relay? got power to the ECU? plug the ecu into a laptop and see if it is getting a crank signal.

I have no idea which the fuel pump relay is. Obviously the Gti6 one is redundant and not there. There are 2 relays in the loom inside next to the DTA both look identical.

Got power to the ECU. It's connected to the shunt box next to the 12v take off. I presumed that because it's cranking, the power is coming through the ECU loom to the starter.

I don't have a lead to connect it to a laptop. Must purchase one - note to self.

A friend tells me I should remove the fuel pump plug and run an earth and positive wire direct to the pump. I'm away from the car now, but I'm sure there was only two wires to the pump plug. Is this doable?

As I say, it only needs to be able to start it and run for a few mins and then the engine can come out.

one of the relays will be fuel pump the other would be injectors and coils, DTA advise the ECU be on a relay as well.

I'll see if I have any luck with making the pump work with a wire to it.
