Reverse Light Not Turning Off

I had a search and couldn't find an answer.

 

My reverse light stays on when the ignition is off. (when left in reverse obviously)

 

Is it a fault or is it standard?

the circuit shouldnt be live with the ignition off, check what voltage you have at the switch on the box and work back
