Gti6 Rev Counter

Recommended Posts

RICH530I

Hello All

I have had one of the following adaptors made up for my rev counter to work again after fitting the GTI6 engine. Could anyone advise me which wires to chip into? There is a purple and a brown one on the coil packs and I have found the infomation below from this site about the plug on the back of the clocks. Any help would be much appreciated

the standard gti dashboard\clocks have a plug in connector with 4 pins.

The first should be white, number C1J. This wire is 12v.

The second should be green with yellow stripes, number M1J. This is the earth wire.

The third should be yellow, number 112. This wire is the input from coil.

The fourth wire is only used for diesel models. If you have a diesel, connect it to wire 112A.

thats the config for a turbo setup, you need 4 wire to attach to each coil on a gti6 setup

so you have a feed form each coil

1 earth

1 wire to wire 112

if you need a gti6 setup, let me know :)

would this be the same for the xu10j4r? most of the wiring i used the gti6 as a guide, so would the tacho be the same as a gti6, ie the dioded loom? thanks

Does that have a coil on plug setup, if not you should be able to pick up from the ignition amp :)

Sorry not sure that I understand what u mean. If u mean is it on a coil pack over spark plugs, it is. It's not individuals like the gti6, but a one piece item. It has four wires outve the plug. To which from memory, are 12v ign, ground, and 2 signal feeds? Any help would be appreciated thank you.

P.s sorry for the late response but I'd never seen a response until now ha, dam iPad lol

For the coil you have, which is a wasted spark coil you would be best running the diode adapter method. Spikey makes them I believe and they work a treat. Ive made a few now and all been successful. Best to PM spikey see if he can fix you up.
