I wish I had this capacity to save and get a cleaner straighter shell to pop this running gear under :lol:

 

yeah Daniel is correct, I have driven about 12 miles in it so far, part of the final fine tune is general driving as one would do normally, plus a few acceleration runs from low rpm in 2nd through third.

 

it pulls without hesitation or spluttering whatsoever from under 2k at WOT.... :D

I do enjoy a ZX, i had already clocked that one on ebay after catching up with this project caused me to check what was available.

 

Should be a shock to a few people, sounds great and it's nice to see an RFS engine in its original home.

I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind me asking...

 

What TPS did you use? and can you remember the spacing of the throttle bodies (the distance between the inner pair of trumpets)?

its a premade inlet, manufactured by Colin Satchel's team, so the spacing is done for him, the TPS is your standard Jenvey item :)

these are longer and place the bodies flatter, making more power and torque and helping get a filter under the bonnet with a decent depth and inlet tract length.

Thanks, will try and get some clips soon, I think getting it mapped still on the standard inlet would have released some extra over the standard ecu as well as making sure the cam timing was correct, with the throttle bodies there is a distinct change at 4.5 where it pulls really hard with a pretty clear note to 6.5.

 

Not sure exactly where peak is now but it does rev to the limiter.

7500 soft 7700 hard, peak on single throttle was same as standard iirc which was around 6500.

Think mine was 7600 soft and 7800 hard from memory. Peak power at 7000
