I've got wobbly seats syndrome combined with a case of floppy bolster. Thinking of getting rid altogether and dropping something else in which is supportive and reclines.

Anyone got any suggestions about seats from other car manufaturers which would fit the bill?

Are these cheap rec. buckets on ebay as bad as they're supposed to be?

I've got 405 Mi16 seats in mine which are fitted by making a simple plate and drilling a few holes and it bolts straight to the original subframes.

what ever you do don't buy cheap recliner buckets off ebay, they are awful quality and likely dangerous as half of them are made from wood!

Seats from 306gti6 can be made to fit, as Max says 405 items, 309....

Thanks for the suggestions and warning. Can't believe something like that can be sold legally in this country.

As Allye says. i had 309 Goodwoods in mine. Before that i had 405 (seats full-leather, not Mi16). And now i have 306 seats.

the 309 seats are a little bit better than the original 205 seats. About the same height. Very easy to fit in.

the 405 seats are just like a sofa in your livingroom. Soft and not fermly. Very easy to fit in.

the 306 seats are a bit higher and slight difficult to built properly in your 205.

and if you have the money and the luck, buy some Recaro's. Seems to be also sold in Ford Escort Cosworths, BMW's and other german topcars. My Dimma was built in Germany and was delivered with these Recaro's. They're a little bit higher than original. But not as high, as the 306 seats.

If i had to choose, it would be at first the Recaro's and then the 306 seats.

reminds me... a friend of mine had a couple of years ago some BMW e30 convertible seats. Don't know if it was difficult to built in. Looks very nice though. that could be another option.

Are the 306 rears a straight fit? I've read 306 cab ones fit.

306 cab rear ones do fit but the are a little too small width-wise on the base and the backrest bits sit quite high. also the back rest bits will need to be attached to the 'frame' of the standard rears as they dont have any support as such, just molded foam.

the proplem with fitting front seats from a diffrent car is getting the rears to match.

Also interested to hear how the 306 ones are adapted to fit!

Unless they're from a 309. ;)

few snaps of the 306 cab rear ones, this is in a 5door and as you can see, you get a little bit of visible uncarpeted floor, not really very noticable with the door closed, and not sure if it would be an issue at all with a 3door

and then the backrests, these are just rested in place, but gives an idea of how much higher they sit unless you tuck the backrest down and pull the base of the seat forward. little bit less legroom that way though.

there is also again a bit of space eaither side, where the frames from the 205 backrest need to go (just unzip cover and remove foam)

the backseat you can use (in most cases), is the one of a 205 with a full-leather interior. So you can see on the pics. I had a 309 backseat in the time of the Goodwood interior, because Baz says, it fits straight in.

The 306 interior is a whole other thing. And i'm still busy at the moment. The lowerpart isn't the problem. I already flexed the metal and foam to fit it in. The backpanel is the most challenging. The plan is to buy an old 205 panel, and place the (modified) metal sheet into the back of the 306 seat. The thing is, that the backpanel is offcentre and the 205 seats isn't. Maybe i weld it together. Don't know yet.
