Small 205 Jobs For The Big Weekend

Recommended Posts

chipstick

I'm sure it hasn't escaped anyone that there's a nice long weekend quickly approaching.

Recently I have found myself tacking a few smaller easy and cheap jobs on my 205 which if I'm honest, almost give more satisfaction than the larger ones.

So what I thought I would do is get peoples idea's of small jobs that are perhaps cheap, yet have made the world of difference or are a nice touch.

The most recent thing I have done is replace all my dim or blown dash bulbs and have a working clock for the first time. It's something I had been meaning to do but had been putting off. Took no time at all and was actually quite satisfying. We will forget the fact I put the dash back together and left the clock hanging out as I forgot it needed to go behind first.

Anyone got any smaller jobs lined up this weekend? Or perhaps suggestions for things they once did which made the world of difference?

Few odd jobs to finish off, bleed the brakes, sort a few dodgy guages and loose connectors. Sort the tracking. Its a nice change to be onto small jobs, rather than an insurmountable list :)

Well I've hit my first hurdle before I've started as the ignition lead neat car parts sent me doesn't appear to be correct with an X in the centre and not a Y where it meets the contacts.

That's pretty much finished me off. Hope the weathers good so I can just eat BBQs all weekend then!

I'm back in business. Managed to glue a few bits of broken plastic together with some autolock gearstick adhesive. Roll on the new forest!

what a great start for me too...

Went to the factors to find they dont sell nipples :S main dealer i go, they dont know going off my reg what rear drums i have so i have to buy a pair of both to see. He did say there is only one nipple for the 206 266's though so a pair for them too.... :25 later he tells me they dont have any of them and cant even order them until wednesday so i wont be having them until next weekend

That is nothing more than your own PPP.

Perhaps it is because my job at work involves similarly preparing in advance for jobs means I get stuff prepared in advance, but waiting till Saturday morning to get the things you need is poor planning, especially in this modern world of ebay which means you can have whatever it is delivered in a couple of days in most cases.

If I have a big job to do that is waiting for a weekend I spend some time in the week before getting together the stuff I will need either by going to get it locally or ordering it mail order.

New speedo lasted for all of half a mile so I guess the problem lies elsewhere.

Collected beatifully refurbed wheel from Lepsons.

Take the complete set that have been sitting on my garage floor for 3 years to get balanced.

Look forward to putting them on.

Watch monkeys balance wheels and find another one that is buckled. Grrrr.

Job for next weekend is to take another wheel to be refurbed!!

Now off to Goodwood!
