Jack Mounting Bracket...any Such Thing?

Recommended Posts

bondyshambles

Hi there

I have noticed that the jack under the bonnet of my car (205 1.9) is just sat inside the arch with no apparent bracket holding it there. It looks as though there is a thread on the inner arch and i was wandering should there be a bracket holding it in place, as i can't find any for sale. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

nope, no bracket other than that threaded boss and some sticky backed foam on the inner wing to stop it rattling.

There should be a bolt that screws into the thread to secure it in place.

I will try and source the part...but my local Peugeot garage will probably charge me a grand or not be able to get it. Any photos around so that i have an idea or part no's would be appreciated.

There is just a cylinder attached to the inner wing which has a threaded hole in. (which you have found) A jack will fit over this, and a bolt goes through the jack in to this to secure it.

It sounds as if you don't have the jack secured with this bolt, which is why it is loose.

There will be a clip in the side which the jack handle clips in to.

What he said.

Mine is missing too, I've been trying to find a replacement boss and bolt for ages now, I think it's a case of cutting one out of an old shell really.
