Back In A 205! Missed Muchly

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've been away from 205 ownership since June 2010. And have moved back! People keep going on about taking a step back from my 6 and the of abuse from the work mates has returned....nobs.

Just a few pics of my old cars.

Had a 1600 as my 2nd car and was great! Really miss this and want it back....

Bought another 1600 for £500.00 and tracked it (first time)

Sold both bought and then bought a 6! Which is up for sale if anyones interested....

Now I have bought a 1900 from Miles which might be an old members car off here. Body is in good nick which is why he sold it and engine had a rebuild not long ago. It is good fun though and I think much more fun to drive than the 6 even though its slower.

Just like to say though Miles is really helpful and if will definatly go back to him for advice. Thinking of getting Tb's done by him.

But yer thought would say hi and am glad to be back in one!

I'm looking for my white 1.6 now. Its currently off the road :( The 1.9 is just not the same. Think I prefer the revvy engine.

i too prefer the 1.6 as a standard car for its willingness to rev and i have owned both too! it took some time to find my current car with its 99% full history and its not perfect!

it will be in the end though time and funds permitting! ( i have plenty of time but lack the funds lol! :P )

but i am toying with the idea of getting another that has already been messed with ( i am more of a restorer than modifier! lol! )

ideally in lazer green to build in to what i feel peugeot could ultimately have produced as the final evolution of a roadgoing 205 gti to use as a daily driver so i can keep my current car as more of a shows and dry day car.

my spec would be: a completely mint lazer green shell ( sunroof shell as will be a road car )

a highly tuned 306 gti6 16 valve engine with after market management and a turbocharger

a six speed manual gearbox

limited slip differential

coil over front suspension ( wider track items from 309 for example )

power steering

airconditioning

wider than standard rear beam ( from 309 gti for example with meaty torsion bars )

refurbished to as new standard

standard gti body kit but with chrome instead of red inserts

5 speedline sl 434 wheels

heated windscreen

heated mirrors ( from 205 gentry )

uprated brake discs all round and calipers and of course pads

abs

that covers the mechanicals and exterior so on to the interior

dark grey headlining ( from phase 2 interior )

full green carpet set and custom mats to suit

full green/black door cards

green capet centre console to match

full black leather interior ( from a 205 or 309 made to fit )

heated seat elements under the leather covers

illuminated mirror sunvisors ( made grey to match headlining ) from 205 gentry model

full black dash ( from phase 2 interior )

5 hole switch panel for extra controls ( 1 for aircon other for heated screen/mirrors/seats on a timer )

i am sure that list gives an idea of what i would like to build and am sure i would find other things to add to the list but my basic idea would be to build a 205 which resembled a euro special edition griffe externally ( whilst looking fairly standard ) but be as well specified as possible using peugeot family parts and have a vastly improved performance in all areas using again all peugeot family parts. :)

I do like that road bit bumpy but I love the bends after the pub since they redone it all.

Sensualt101 - sounds like a good project! Wish I could do a big project but don't have the time anymore.

I'm in the wrong profession that I wanted to be in so don't really have the knowledge anyway...

Thanks Dave, I will keep it nice and tidy. Must have been on a forum or peugeot club as it has a 205 club sticker on the back and peugeot club tax disc holder.
