Yeah, I just made a half clevis like that to allow use of the 306 ones I do:

 

 

 

double shear would be better but tbh single is fine for the loads involved.

 

How much are these from you for a 205 fitment?? I'm liking the blue!!!!!

Unfortunately until get my new lathe stripped/inspected and back up and running I can't do any for a while. They run oversized (forged 7075 T6 aluminium, can't be adding extra weight now can we?) joint bodies with a small bore but large ball diameter too so they last far longer.

How long would you suspect it likely for you to make these up? Looked at mine last night and need to get something in place quite soon....

Not long at all, it'd just be a matter of sending a design to my CNC friends. Once they're kicked off the turn-around is usually under a week.

 

It would be nice to get a batch of at least 10 done, the set-up costs are high so the component price reduces quite a lot as the quantity goes up.

 

What's people's preference for materials? I can either go for hollow steel or solid aluminium like the ones above - weights would be very similar but ally you can get anodised all sorts of fancy colours, steel would need powder coating.

I like the look f the blue!! I know it's completely non dofferencial, but if I'm buying a piece of useful bling I want it matched to my car colour lol

 

What do you think the cost will be total?? I'll buy more than one set and eBay the others if you need to make up numbers, depending on cost that is.....

A week turn around is pretty good, I can live with mine the way they are if the turn around is going to be rapid.

Well.. If it's a go'er then I'd say from today to having parts ready could take something like 4 weeks in total, depending on who I can find to anodise them. The loads are low so they won't need any extensive testing. I'd like to have a few people in on it - say 5 sets as a minimum - as it makes the CNC-ing much more cost effective, if we get the cost of that down the price of the finished parts will come down too.

The joints, boots, jam nuts and spacers sourced through Demon Tweeks would be £52, just to give you an idea of cost. That's for Aurora bearings who are the daddies, and from what I can see are the same ones that Spoox supply on their 306 links. It comes down to machining and anodising costs after that, but I expect you'd be looking at around the £100 mark for a set.

 

Costs can be reduced in the rod ends, but going too cheap will be false economy.

and much more sense on a 205 given how close they run to the damper clamp bolts, the original droplinks were tapered like that.

Sorry been a bit busy! I've dug the joints out (they're sat on my desk) but not got any further than that. It's on my long list of things to do.
