Shame, you got it looking really good there - even the wheels had suited it nicely.

 

Good to hear you'll be back with a proper GTI though :D.

You did a good job there, did you get any paint edges when using the paper and tape ?

 

I use foam tape edges to stop getting any paint edges.

 

Good luck finding a decent one when you do want to get another.

thanks :) the only paint edges i got were down the A pillars where the seal sits as i didnt want to take it off for fear of it either snapping or not going back on again :) should have used foam tape looking back at it,

i dont want a decent one next, i want one thats been a bit neglected/ abused and make it mint again and back on the road, instead of buying one that is already in good nick, for some reason im drawn to neglected cars :lol:

whoops completely missed these posts :(, i used cellulose paint, just plain gloss black :D

 

hoping to be getting another 205 soon, i have applied for a few garages as i have started working now and can finally afford one :D then ill be on the hunt for a neglected little 205 in need of some renovating :D

what sort of garage work you looking for? would it be mechanic stuff or bodywork? I think if you get round to getting some nice kit for spraying, you should offer us lot some kind of spraying service :D

may be an idea :) the sort of garage im looking for though i wouldnt be able to fit a comprssor in or anything :( just looking for a place to store the pug out of the weather where i can restore it :)

sort of an update on eddie, he is now tax mot'd and insured by his new owner, so hes finally back on the road where he can fool others into thinking its a real GTI :D

right then its official, i want project Eddie back :( has anybody seen him knocking about anywhere?? would love to buy it back

though i love the 106 (called toby) id swap it for Eddie any day :( i think he's currently running around in newport wales

kind of, its a quiksilver, soon to be GTI spec aside from the engine though got GTI brakes and disk beam to go on and has full half leather :D

gti's use a 24 arb saxos are 22mm just watch out ;)
