this is a big update for eddie as i got him some new shoes, granted not 1.9 wheels but a set of rare TSW Hockenheims :D

how he's looking now, offset on the front isn't too off just the fat tyres on the fronts making it look really bad :(, will bet them replaced soon :D

another small update :) since it was a nice day today i decided to give Eddie a well needed clean :) here it is after a wash :)

ljr0j.jpg

ht9ohw.jpg

you can see the reason it needs a re-spray lol the door shuts etc are red and the car is a shade of orange :(

34qwzlv.jpg

can be seen here as well

2s7udld.jpg

then it became apparent that the paint had no protection on it as the water just collected on the paint so gave it a quick polish up with some Autoglym super resin :) the result

ih4gv9.jpg

s6kcj7.jpg

f0dbbn.jpg

then polished my exhaust because i got bored :)

very convincing looking car! Nice one. I really like those wheels, they remind me of my old Rover 200 on MGZR hairpins. How much do they weigh?

right then

the decision has been made that Eddie will be staying red, though the body will still be re painted due to the amount of dents + faded paint lol, it will be much easier this way as i wont need to strip the whole thing and paint every inch which i would have to do if changed the colour because im a fussy git :D

going to start on the underside soon, it will be getting a strip down floor painted red then beam etc painted up :) not doing what i did with the ax though and taking it all off in one go as it turned into too much for me to handle :(

got the missing piece of the puzzle through the post today :D (well aside from a GTI engine) the red hammerite is for the underside :)

Thanks :D the body is nearly how i want it now :) though every time i look at it i see another imperfection  cant wait to get it painted in some fresh cherry red

this may be a risky move but i have decided i will be painting the car myself  a lot cheaper this way and i can say I did it :)

before anyone thinks im a mad crazy fool for wanting to paint it myself, i have painted a car before and it turned out quite good really after a good polish up :) used a compressor and a spray gun (albeit an underpowered compressor so took quite a while to paint the whole car) it was a Hyundai accent, more specifically my brothers Hyundai accent so if i messed it up i would not hear the end of it lol

here it was before

16ghjib.jpg

during

and after a good flat and polish :D

hopefully red should be quite easy to spray :D

yep painted on the driveway :D went quite well really just laid down a tarpaulin to stop dust flicking up onto the fresh paint only issue was a few bugs landing on it :( all came out in the flatting/ polishing stage though :D
