What Is A Fair Price To Rent Out A Single Garage At?

Recommended Posts

cRaig

Hey there,

Will soon have a secure, dry residential single garage to rent out in Bath, and was wondering if people had any experience of a sensible, fair price to charge for rent? Its ideal for rental, detached from the house, seperate entrace from the road, rather than going through the garden etc.Not sure if it has power, but is something I may look into.

Anyone got any recent examples of prices for a single garage? Also if anyone in the area is after it, I would rather it go to an enthusiast off here :)

Cheers

Craig

I rent one form the a local housing association, it's in a block, with no power or light (and about 5 minutes from my house).

I think I pay around £38 per month.

Thanks for the replies guys. We were thinking around 35-40 a month, so werent too far off the ball, considernig it is a bit more secure than being in a row of council block garages, and I can prob easily fit a light.

I pay £25 a week on mine with power and water x4 plug sickets... enough room to fit cabinates and tables and a car. well it fits a 110 Landrover defender in it! with a good amount of room to walk up and down the side without the tables and cabinates in it

This subject really is "how long is a peice of string" all depends on where you live..

i pay about £10 a week for the one i rent and its got a massive gateed entrance, but no power and just enough room for a car and a little table at the back.

But like minigibbo said it probably does depend on the area you live in.

I used to rent the garages out separately to a couple of flats I owned, in Surbiton & Kingston. A good 10 or 12 years ago, the going rate was £50 per month each. Just lock-up garages, no light or power. I don't think they'd go for seriously more than that today though, ie garage rental is largely unaffected by inflation.
