Great Motoring Videos

Did anyone like my opening video?

They are part of a series of Japanese 'tests' (arseing about on a track) so you should be able to access others once you've viewed mine. There are some other mental races with S2000s, VTECs, 10,000 rpm racers and custom builds with details on the engines too.

Those drivers are pretty insane but very talented in my (limited experience) opinion. They certainly work the cars and themselves hard and it's fascinating to watch.

No - as I wasted most of last night watching the touge races on the GTChannel - now perfecting my pronunciation of "Hachi-Roku"

Hmmm, K24a 205..............

I enjoyed it! For some reason the driver's chatting away in Japanese makes it more amusing, they seem to be having a laugh anyway. I thought this episode was good too, they just seem to be mucking about...

Why can't I remember the 405s??

Recognise every other car & most liveries, but not the Peugeots - First ones I can remember are the Peugeot 406 Total / Ultron

Can't decide if it was shift light in the 405 or oil pressure warning.................I'll fetch my coat

Too true - current BTCC isn't a patch on this era. Now it's exciting if there's 1/2 dozen overtakes in a race, would have been the same in one lap in the 90's. Loved the way you could watch the race on the weekend and then see the same cars on the road on the following Monday, bar the hooooogh massively tucked wheels B)

Don't get me wrong, still better than F1

Agreed. Vatanen (sp?) is excellent too, but the video quality due to age means newer stuff seems 'better' (or faster).

Perhaps the newer stuff IS faster, due to technology; but relatively speaking, it's impossible not to admire the older footage and talent because they went so bloody quickly with more basic cars and fewer aids.

Good posts Baz.

Frank Kelly on his way to winning the 2.5 litre class in last week's Mk2 Challenge, Carlow. Fabulously hectic from about 6:30...

http://youtu.be/nawzhPQEfvk

Another of our engines won the 2 litre class (Sam Smith) :)

I went over to watch them last year, as good as the videos are, you just cant beat hearing them for real, and the evening craic is brilliant!

Irish Rallying all the way & I'm going back to the emerald isle next yer!
