Gti Springs On Dturbo

Recommended Posts

Russ_T

Hello,

Just a quicky, some GTi springs just turned up for my DTurbo.

Do I need to change the shocks at all? I'm hoping for just a bit of a drop. I have GTi-6 rear shocks at the moment. I know I could do with uprating torsion bars and arbs, but for now will the springs sit ok in my DTurbo cups?

Thanks! :)

Providing that your existing dampers are in good order, they'll work fine with GTi springs and sit a bit lower.

they'll fit fine, though not sure what kind of height you will end up with.

When I fitted gti subframe, dampers, springs etc to my n/a diesel it lowered it around 30mm.

Thanks chaps, bring on some better weather so I can get cracking :)

If my shocks seem a bit tired when I get in there what's the best bet for new shocks, some stock GTi ones or aftermarket?

Cheers

This is my old STDT on 309 GTI springs with group N top mount rubbers, it sat about 10mm higher on 205 GTI springs iirc.

Shame looks really nice mate :) Was under the impression though that a 55 profile would have to be used on ghetto shells...

That's not a ghetto shell, it's an STDT which used a GTI shell & the XUD7T engine, GTI front subframe & an XS spec rear beam but I fitted all GTI bits when I rebuilt the beam.
