maybe you're looking in the wrong places? though you have to remember that there weren't that many built in the first place and a lot would have been lost to corrosion since, massively more so than an un-kitted car.

There is a dimma for sale on ebay with a knackered engine. I only took notice of it as its in Wallasey, never seen it on the roads around here though.

I might be able to help as I'm sitting back waiting for a buyer for my Dimma. I bought it last year from a forum member on here for £3,250 and haven't used it very much since. It is an excellent genuine example with room for improvements such as a respray, small interior overhaul, wheel refurb and a bit of general tlc. I have managed to badly crack the front splitter though and a replacement would be £500 ish so my sale price will be that much lower than what I have paid.

Have a search on here for its build project using the username: mikebullock there's a load of info on the car and I've stacks of history.

I'm a big Dimma fan and would advise you to be cautious with what you see listed on eBay. If its not genuine its just a 205 with a body kit.

There's one on here for a grand isn't there? Not sure if it was a genuine one or not. Is a ropey example, but ideal if you want a project I suppose at your budget.

thanks chipstick but that is extremely ropey! I'm advertising my phase 1 to raise funds to buy the Dimma from the guy above hopefully!
