Have you used the rear mount that has the built in carrier of the xm lump or is it a gti one? You need the gti one this could be causing that issue as you also wont be able to get your shaft in, i cant see why you would need to extend the bottom fork, mine went in fine without any mods

The 15mm extended fork is to help make sure the turbo is clear of the steering rack knuckle an also to help lower the exhaust manifold so it almost lines up with the tunnel. The rear mount is matched to the gearbox being used so that the offside driveshaft lines up properly. I would of thought that if it still had the xm mount it wouldnt have a shaft fitted yet as it wont line up but the lump would probably still fit as it should if not a better fit than the 205 one that it should have as due to its greater size would actually hold the engine even further away from the bulkhead??

your best option by far is the gti6 power steering and alternator and bracket/top mount it bolts straight on.

check out page 2 on my link below

Yes just get the bracket and alternator, a smaller belt and use a cambelt tensioner to tension it. Then you can chop off the steering pump part to save a bit of weight
