Anybody Know If The Plastic Tailgate Trim Was Standard From Start To F

I'm sure I read somewhere that at some point Peugeot stopped putting the tailgate trim on and the badges went straight onto the paintwork. True or false??? Anyone know?

for late base models that is correct, but not gti's, other than the 1fm I think.
