205 Or 106 Eibach Springs?

Recommended Posts

GSXR_J

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can confirm if the Eibach 106 springs part no.E20-70-001-01-20 45-50mm drop will fit onto a 205 Gti and if so will they lower the car any more than the 205 eibach kit 7001 would?

Cheers!

They will fit but I don't about the change in ride height.

Wouldnt the spring rate be different though? What are the 205 ones rated at?

Both cars are similar in weight so I would not worry too much

106 sportline spring rate is progressive

80 - 240lb

I think the 205 ones are progressive as well but I will find out tomorrow.

I cannot get the exact figure but 205 ones are roughly 15 - 40 nm progressive spring rate so thats basically the same so I'd have no worry about putting the 106 springs on!.

Will 205 springs fit a 106 strut?

Do we know if the 106 springs actually lower a 205 by the 50mm advertised?

I don't think they drop quite that far if they are designed for the iron TU5, the 5J4 is a little heavier than an 8 valve XU apparently, 106 generally is a little heavier anyway, apart from the beam.

Would you really want the car to be sat much lower than it is on 7001's anyway? Even with an alloy block 8v the car sits as low as you'd sensibly want it (IMO)

Put some 7001's on and it seems a little high still, just wondering wether to swap them for the 106 items to get it sat alittle lower????

Could actually still be lowered another 20mm after fitting 7001's.

If you've only just fitted them, have you let them settle over a few miles?

This is my 205 1.9 GTi with 7001's on...

Yep given them couple of hundred miles so guess that should be enough! Nice picture by the way!

Batfink does them at KAM racing, Miles can supply as well, depends what you're after though, standard diameter lowering or small diameter height adjustables?

Merlin DT etc do them as well.
