1.8D With 1.8Dt Manifold

I have a 1.8d as a parts car, would the engine be ok/last if i use it to replace a 1.8DTurbo engine should anything happen to it.

 

i.e would the compression be wrong and blow it up, or would it be ok using the head of the turbo.

I think the internals are weaker. Also I think the ports are sqaure.

So not the best idea as it will be a ticking bomb waiting to blow

Well I don't think the internals would cope.

Get a 1.9DT from a 306 for around a £100 which is what i've done. Straight swap.

Someone has offered to buy the lump, an was weighing up weather keeping it as a spare. but looks like Its not worth keeping.
