stu8v 68 1 Cars Posted April 19, 2012 I think i may unwittingly have an early beam...... Do you guys know if the difference is just in the splines at the ends of the beam and in the swing arms? The original bars i have measure approx 22 and 24mm dia over the splines My new torsion bars are 24 and 26mm approx over the splines My issue is i have nothing to compare too beam wise as the other i had was scrap so it got binned!!! Note my new bars (from 309pug) fit perfect in my zx swing arms though. any help would be appreciated as i've got steam coming out my ears lol Although i suspect i need a late beam tube which is a pain as this ones just been blasted and new bearings...... cheers Stu. Oh and i broke my thumb on this one getting it apart, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted April 19, 2012 LOL. Very early rear beams have 28 teeth on each end of a torsion bar, while new (e.g. standard) ones have 30 and 32. Can you confirm that yours is like this?
stu8v 68 1 Cars Posted April 19, 2012 Ill count them tomorrow but Im certain it will be as you describe.
