What Insurance Company Do You Use?

Recommended Posts

Zara

Adrian Flux for me give me the best insurance cover, but then ive never claimed from them. I have my breakdown cover also from them which im suprised i actually had to use a few weeks back  normally when i have cover i dont need it and when i dont have it i break down all the time

I would also possibly like to find somewhere else to insure the Dimma but it will have to be somewhere that will provide me personally the same level of cover Flux give me. As for insuring the 205 on classic whilst its been sorn. I rang and spoke to several companies at the time last year as i would have been happy to pay £300 to keep her insured. NOWHERE would insure it for me as I did not have a garage or somewhere secure to keep it. They were not happy with it being on the drive, fortunately for me i live in a quite cul-de-sac (all be it its still a council estate even tho we arent council) and just having a cover over my completely unlocked Dimma for a year was enough!.

Ive just rang footman whoever and they dont want to know my dimma. again because i dont have a garage! :( maybe ill try them another day!

Call Peter Best:: 01376 574000

My best quote even on classic policy was around 500 mark. Then these guys smashed it all out of the water. £100 excess, nil excess on windscreen repair OR replacement, all the usual legal blurb... And cheap!!! Classic 205GTI with GTI6, GTI6 brakes, lowered all round, Jenvies, Omex, blah blah blah....

This policy is a classic policy though!! Ncb isn't on anything till I get a refund on something in a few weeks and get myself a pov spec motor of some sorts...

I think what makes all the difference is if the car is a daily driver and incorporates your ncb or if you are going down the lines of classic car insurance and not fussed about you ncb being used... Also the mileage that you allow the policy to cover, and what you have done to your car... The main thing making the difference is the classic or standard insurance...

I insure both of mine with HIC - 205 1.6 GTI costs me £250 fully comp, Alfa 156 GTA costs me £530 fully comp. ^_^

I'm 27 with 6 years NCB, mileage is limited to 4k on the 205.

Not including your 6 penalty points you havent declared .....

Top tip for insurance quotes is to stick women (the older the better) on as named drivers. Try putting your mum and/or auntie on, always helps my quotes.

I've recently insured my 1.9 with flux for 175 fully comp on a 5000 mile limited policy & agreed value with 4 years NCB.

I once had a policy that seemed to go down by about £50 every time I put a member of my family as a named driver, my dad, my mum, my sister, my sister in law...I'd of put my brother on but he doesn't have a licence and my nephew is only 10.

HIC - managed to beat their renewal price down by over £100 by playing them off against Footman James.

£359 all mods declared

FC

Euro breakdown cover

Wife insured

Classic policy

Agreed value.

Hi Guys,

just took a phonecall from peter best, they have quoted me 170! which is the cheapest by far! Although they said I need to be a member if a club and have a membership number? does my membership here count? if so hoe do I find out my number?

Thanks again guys,

this thread has saved me about 600 quid!

I'm glad I pointed you in their direction now!! From memory of reading another thread I believe your member number is the number in the web address when you look at your profile?? I may be wrong about this though...

I think this forum do count though as one of the clubs as I mentioned I was on here...
