Just Wondering

Is there a fuel cut off switch it a 1.9 GTI? Mine stopped running the day I got it :( I was driving along and it just cut out on me. I've changed the usuals ( plugs, leads, rotar arm, distributor cap etc) and it still won't fire. You can hear the typical buzz when you turn the key making me think the fuel pump is working but yet it won't fire.

Any thoughts guys

No there isn't a fuel cut off switch.

Fuel cut off is a function of the tachymetric (fuel pump) relay, whereby it will turn off the fuel pump if the engine stops running.

Do the basic checks - does it have spark, does it have compression, is the fuel pump supplying fuel, is fuel being injected, and is it making any attempt to fire - and you'll have a much better chance of diagnosing and fixing the problem.

It's got a full tank of go go juice lol.

Yeah I Deffo have spark, and I have compression too. It has an aftermarket immobilizer that I currently have an autos park removing in case it's the problem but if that don't work I'm really confused :(

The old plugs were damp but I threw the head up after I changed the entire spark system and it still would fire and took it to the auto spark to get that stupid immobizer ripped out. But as I say if that doesn't work I'll be relying on the info that you cans provide me
