Arb Plate Bolt Thread Rounded

Recommended Posts

Strictly_Derv

I was just checking the 106 ARB was still in place on my 205, and as I was undoing the 13mm bolt, the end plate was pushing up against it as it was only jacked up on one side and it's caused the bolt and thread in the arm to round  it was my fault but I didn't think at the time, probably would of been okay with a standard bar.

Hopefully I will be borrowing a mates re-thread tool tomorrow. If it's too far gone will it be a case of drilling it and going up a size?

Anyone else done this?

You'll probably be able to save the thread with an M8 tap otherwise as you say just drill it out and tap it m10. The arb end plate will need opening up aswell. I've done this several times now, no sweat :P

I managed to get a bolt in, luckily the old bolt look most of the abuse.

I've also noticed play in the beam which is annoying as I paid £100 for it not about 10months ago.
