Cti Dash Fans

After putting my dash back together i have some electric issues. Main on is the fan / heaters not working now?

central locking want wait for another day.

I'm wondering if I pulled a wire out or something moving my brown plugs over to the glove box?

Does anyone know the bst way to check the thing has power or do I need to take the centre console all apart again?

Could find anything simple in a search so fingers crossed someones had a similar issue.

Damo.

Daft question - have you double checked the fan control circuit in the passengers footwell? plug may well have become loose

resistor could be faulty.

During my reshell the fans on the XS didn't work, changed the resistor for the one in the Rallye, still didn't work. Changed it for one of Anthony's and it worked! Crazy two resistors failed

^^ most common fault of dash fans not working, i think i tried about 3-4 before i got one that worked, then the blower started to squeal

Slo

Its water that usually kills em, either sucked in from rain or settling from washing the car or even the heater matrix leaking. When i swapped my mark 1 dash for a mark 2 with heater box the mark 2 heater didnt work, when i removed the heater resistor it had about an inch of white scale from the bottom up so had obviously been swimming in water for a very long time. Replaced the resistor from my mark 1 heater box and it then worked altho vibrated very loudly and scared the crap out of me at the same time because i wasnt expecting that, after replacing mark 1 blower as well its now working but squeaking lol cant win.

ok fixed now. pulling the brown plug through must have pulled something loose. a wiggle of all the wires from the passenger side and I now have fans :)

Thanks for the pointers.
