Painting Discs In High Temp Spary Paint

Recommended Posts

ALEX

If I was to paint the whole of the front discs with High temp paint.

would cause me any problems?

The idea is to save time masking them up and let the pads wear off the paint.

I have a couple of work mates who bought some "uprated" discs. They were just painted black and the paint wore off as soon as they were used.

Wouldn't like to recommend it though.

Pads take the paint off instantly, never had a problem. Pretty sure I've seen VAG discs sold fully painted before too, possibly aftermarket though. They still worked mind.

The discs were still quite new and it seemed a waste to throw them away so I've had them shot blasted to match all the other new parts on the car.

I need to paint them or soemthing thought as they'll be rusty again by the time I get it running,

They're usually black zinc on OEM/aftermarket discs.
