Spring Clips In Boot?

Anyone got any ideas what the plastic spring loaded clips with grooves in are for in the boot. There's one either side just above the washer bottle and symmetrical on the near side. They spring back out when pushed in. Been racking my brains. What am I missing??

Lol. Oh right! I have the parcel shelf but couldn't work out why they were spring loaded. Probably something stupid I know but only got my car last week and it's been a while!

I think it's just to stop you from being able to snag things on them and break them.
