205 S16 Cutting Out After Clifford Alarm Removal

Recommended Posts

Nick_j_r

Hi, I've just removed my Clifford alarm from my 205 s16, got it running again and everything working, but it cuts out after a couple of minutes and has no power at the ignition :/ seems like it might be an ecu fault or immobiliser, any help would be appreciated

Check and double check all the connections where the Clifford was joined into the system - logically, if it was fine prior to the Clifford being removed and it's now giving problems, it's likely to be related to the work that you've just done and the most likely thing is that you've got a poor connection somewhere.

Otherwise, no power at the ignition should be easy enough to chase back with a multimeter and identify the cause.

Cheers, I'm not the best with electrics if I'm honest, and the electrics were already bad. I know I've got a few wires that are not connected, if I remember rightly it's two whites, one pale blue and a brown, these were connected to some part of the Clifford

I had a starting problem because of the Clifford alarm. Part of it had failed and I had it removed by an auto electrician and now it works fine. I would get an auto electrician to sort it mate if you're not very practical (like me) ;-)
