Starting Problem 205 Gti 1.6

Got a weird starting problem on my rally car and it's something to do with the ignition amp. Changed the pattern one I had fitted originally as it was mis-firing at high revs to a second-hand original Bosch item from miles at pug racing (got 2 of them) and runs perfect *except* when trying to start it from cold.

 

Using both Bosch amps when cold its very difficult to get running but if I swap them with the old patterned one it fires first time :-/

 

For the time being I put the pattern one on to start and then as soon as it fires up, put the Bosch one back on
