 Popped out lunch time in the Pug' and as I was nearly stopped? behind a Astra van at a T junction, got twatted up the arse by a Transit . Really 'ard into the Astra in front. Stone dead I'm afraid, so thats that then! I've got pics on phone but don't know how to upload 'em, perhaps Luggy will oblige , or I'll take some with the Digital tomorrow. All in the hands of Kudos now, but not sure how that will pan out, either way, gonna be out of pocket in my experiance. Not much left of the 'ol girl, but might be able to break it up amongst those of you that want some spares. I'll have to keep you all posted. Bye for now. :(

Surely it's not your fault then? Should get a decent enough payout for it?

Im so angry  and f***in gutted :( for you Terry considering the work we've done to her recently. I'll get some pics of the old girl up tomorrow.

It would be quite interesting to see the transit drivers' phone records at the time of the incident considering his excuse was "my foot slipped off the brake pedal" CNUT

OOF.

Sorry to see those pics, the front doesn't look bad but obviously the back is very bad.

Transit drivers seem to be good at this sort of thing. Maybe if they spent less time trying to roll fags or looking at the Sunday Sport and actually concentrated on the driving, it would help <_<

Thanks for the posts people. Might ask to have the salvage if only to save the good parts from the crusher. Parts would include: 5 good clean speedlines and tyres with loads of tread. Bonnet. Grille. Lights. Radiator (6 months old). Interior. Phase 2 dash. Steering wheel. Good engine and box (cam belt and water pump new) and all ancilleries (sp). Some good trim bits and lots of bits and pieces. My problem is getting to a suitable place of excecution and having that place to break up in an orderly fashion. anyone here know what I expect to pay for the salvage? Don't want all the good stuff get binned.

Usually salvage is something in the region of 10-15% of the value from what I've seen.

Certainly worth keeping and breaking if you've got the space/time, as that will at least partly compensate for the inevitable poor payout, or give you a whole heap of known good parts to swap over if you buy another

That's not good, low speed impacts where "My foot slipped off the brake" shouldn't do that much damage imo without the engine also being involved unless you were on a steep incline!!

There looks to be a good few bits to salvage some money back which the insurance payout probably won't cover, unless you had it on an agreed value policy but if you did you'll usually have salvage retention anyway.

Sorry to hear aother looks to have been taken to it's demise by a transit.
