A standard Mi16 inlet will foul the 205 radiator in the standard position.

You either need to shorten the inlet manifold, or move the radiator further forward to give sufficient clearance.

The later option is what most people do, usually by means of cutting back the radiator cowling to allow the top of the radiator to lean forwards away from the inlet.

id rather cut and reweld the inlet than bodge the radiator and cowling to be honest i want it to look right

Cutting the inlet looks 100 times worse, No where to mount the coil, dip stick in a odd place etc, Cutting the Rad cowling is much better and doesn't effect performance

ive had a brand new competition rad and double fans made so to cut these down is a non starter im afraid as for looking worse youll struggle to tell once i have finished with it the coil mounting wont matter im putting it on mapped with a remounted coil pack elsewhere thanks for the heads up though

I can measure the shortened inlet I have here spare if you want, but can I make a suggestion? If you're running aftermarket management, do yourself a favour and swap the Mi16 inlet for a GTi-6 one - no issues with the worn throttle body that most Mi's are suffering from these days, potentially better performance (and certainly noise), and as a bonus it already has all the sensors that you'll need which the Mi16 one does not.

(and it doesn't require seem to need as much adaptation/moving of the radiator to fit - on my GTi-6 it only needed to go forward 10mm or so)

its only the cowling that needs modifying, not your new rad or the fans.

I've got a modded cowling from my old car, it's for sale and would suit you. Modding the inlet is nasty.
