Multicar Insurance

Hi all,

Thought this was worth sharing and if anyone has an opinion I'd be happy to hear it.

April's insurance time on my wife's 206cc HDI and as I'm on the cusp of getting the 205 on the road I did a quote on a naval based insurance website today for both of us on a multicar deal.

I was really surpsrised at the quote, last year we paid nearly £400 for the 206 alone but the combined quote today was £460. Looking at the breakdown, the quote says that of that £460, the 206 represents £240 for us both fully comp' and my gti £220 for us both third party fire and theft.

However, based on last year's figure for the 206 I'm essenially insuring my gti for both drivers for £60 :D

I also liked the fact that I could tell them who should accrue the no claims on each vehicle so there's no implication of losing NCB due to a break etc.

Has anyone else done anything similar to this? On the face of it it's a good way to reduce the insurance bill if you have an everyday car as well as a gti but it looks a bit too good to be true.

Ian.

BlueBolt

I tried this before, having heard good things about it, but it backfired on me...

They wouldn't insure my other half, as she was 20, to drive the Seat Leon TDi 150, and the 205 was "excessively modified"...

Something tells me they definitely won't touch the gti now lol
