Starter Button Fuse

Recommended Posts

OK my car has got starting issues again (see previous threads)

What im hoping on doing tomorrow is putting a feed in from the battery to a start button/switch to the starter so if it doesnt fire on the turn of the key then i can push a button and get myself moving.

Im thinking I'd better fuse this wire to save a vist by my local brigade, what type of fuse should i use?

Right, ive put the switch in today and its starting every time . . . . Ive been here before. . . .but all being well this may be my new means of starting the pug.

i havent fused it yet though as i dont really know what strength fuse to put in there. Would a 100A fuse bee too much, I initially bought a 20A one but im thinking this might blow straight away??

I use a starter switch and used to use a 20 or 30 amp fuse (can't remember which). It worked fine, only blew once when i accidentally shorted it out. Just used to keep some spare fuses just incase.

I'v now change it for a proper kit, which contained a relay (30 or 40 amp).
