205 Gti6 Battery And Hand Brake Light Staying On When Ignition Is Off

hi

my 205 gti6 battery and hand brake light have started staying on permanently when the ignition is switched off, and is causing the battery to die after a few hours.

 

the battery itself is fine because if i leave the battery disconnected overnight the car still starts when the battery is reconnected

i have checked the fuses and the relay which seem fine.

You must have a short somewhere imo, check your wiring thoroughly & use it as little as possible until you find the problem.

Cheers, I've managed to clear the fault by taking the battery light wire off of the alternator and then reconnecting it. It been fine overnight so far
